Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Will my child learn to read and write in this class?

Not formally. This is a play-based program, but we gently support pre-literacy and pre-writing skills. Our Montessori environment includes materials that help develop fine motor control, letter recognition, and phonics awareness when children are ready. Rather than tracing or drills, we use practical life and sensory activities to build the physical and cognitive foundations needed for future reading and writing.

❓ Will my child be introduced to numbers and math?

Yes—Montessori math materials are part of our environment. Children are exposed to counting, quantity, and basic number concepts through hands-on activities that are engaging and age-appropriate. Learning is child-led and occurs naturally through exploration.

❓ Which is better: once or twice a week?

Both options offer meaningful experiences, but twice a week allows children to build routines faster and benefit from more consistent exposure to music, language, and Montessori work. That said, even once a week can be a great introduction—especially for busy families or first-timers.

❓ Can I stay with my child during class?

Yes! In fact, we require a parent or guardian to attend and participate. Our program is rooted in collaborative teaching, where adults join the child in guided music, Montessori activities, and transitions. This builds confidence, strengthens your bond, and allows the child to feel secure while learning.

❓ What if my child misbehaves or becomes overwhelmed?

That’s completely normal! We welcome emotional expression and understand that toddlers are still developing self-regulation. You may step outside briefly to help your child reset or offer gentle instruction. Even if they don’t seem to understand at first, consistent calm guidance teaches them over time. We’re here to support, not judge.

❓ What safety measures do you implement during class?

Our classroom is clean, safe, and intentionally prepared.

The Montessori area uses child-sized furniture and open shelves, though floors and corners are not padded.

We recommend children wear non-skid socks for added safety.

With parents involved and small group sizes, supervision is always within arm’s reach.

❓ What if my child is feeling unwell?

We ask that children showing signs of illness (fever, cough, diarrhea, etc.) stay home until fully well.
A signed waiver is part of our enrollment, and we appreciate open communication. For mild allergy symptoms, just let us know in advance.

❓ Can my child with special needs join?

We accept 1 to 2 children with special needs per class. To make sure the group dynamic works well for everyone, we may ask for basic details about your child’s behavior, support needs, or diagnosis before enrollment confirmation.

We aim to offer a warm, inclusive space where all children can thrive.
